How long do fitted wardrobes take?

A single fitted-wardrobe run in one bedroom typically takes 1–2 weeks from first measure to final paint. More rooms, more time — but we run multiple rooms in parallel to keep the total project tight. You'll get a firm timeline before we start.

Can you match existing period features?

Accepted Answer

Yes — period restoration and matching is a core part of what we do. Our carpenter can replicate Victorian and Edwardian mouldings, architraves, panelling and staircase details. We'll take a section of your existing timber to the workshop to match profile, colour and finish.

Question 3

Do you offer design services for bespoke joinery?

Accepted Answer

For larger pieces (media walls, full-room panelling, staircases, libraries) we produce scaled drawings and 3D visuals so you can see the piece before we build it. For simpler items (wardrobes, alcove shelving) we work from a site survey and your brief.

Question 4

What timber do you use for bespoke carpentry?

Accepted Answer

Standard: European oak, ash, walnut, tulipwood (painted finishes), and FSC-certified MDF for painted cabinetry. We also work with exotic timbers (sapele, wenge) and reclaimed oak for period properties. Tell us the look you're after and we'll suggest options at three price points.

Question 5

Can you install in occupied homes without major disruption?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most joinery is built to millimetre measurements in our workshop, then brought on site for assembly and finishing. That typically means 2–3 days of on-site work per piece rather than weeks. We protect surrounding areas and clean down every evening.

Question 6

Do you finish the joinery or does a decorator?

Accepted Answer

We do both. For painted cabinetry we prefer to spray-finish in our partner's workshop — the result is dead smooth, no brush marks. On-site painting is also available if the piece can't easily be removed. Either way the finish is included in the quoted price.
