Yes. Hand-applied shellac finishes on antique furniture, period banisters, tabletops and panelling. Traditional French polishing produces a depth of sheen no modern lacquer can match. Typical pieces are £280–£950 depending on size and condition.

Absolutely — and it saves 70–80% vs replacement. We remove doors, strip and prep them, spray in a professional booth with 2K paint (same stuff car manufacturers use), and reinstall. A full kitchen respray is typically £2,500–£5,000 — compared to £20k+ for a whole new kitchen.

Most are completed in a single visit of 1–4 hours. Spot repairs (a chip in a bath, a scratch on a floor, a burn on a worktop) are often under an hour. Larger jobs (cabinet respray, staircase refinish, period banister restoration) span 1–5 days.

Yes — colour matching is 90% of what we do. We bring a set of pigments and stains on every job and build up a match in front of you before committing. For manufactured finishes (laminate, solid-surface, enamel) we can also order factory paint codes from the original supplier.

Is it worth repairing, or should I replace?

Accepted Answer

Repair makes sense when the damage is localised and the rest of the surface is in good condition. Replacement makes sense when the finish is widely worn or dated. We'll tell you straight — we'd rather lose a small repair job than talk you into one that won't hold up.
